Seventeen Mega Matte Lipstick – First Impression and Review

Recently, an ad for these lipsticks appeared on my Instagram feed and normally, I’d have just scrolled past and ignored it, but this one actually caught my eye and appealed to me. So, the next time I headed into Boots, I decided I’d purchase one.

I chose a nude shade (Nude News) as I wanted to make sure I actually liked the lipstick before I purchased a more colourful shade – I didn’t want to purchase one of the nicer shades only to find that I hated the lipstick and then never be able to wear it.

Here is a photo of the lipstick on (I forgot to exfoliate/moisturise my lips before applying the lipstick so they do look quite dry).

I had never worn a matte lipstick before this one so I didn’t know what to expect in terms of the feeling of it on my lips but I find this very comfortable to wear!

It claims to be a non-drying creamy formula that can last up to 13 hours.

The lipstick doesn’t completely dry down and I do personally find it to be very creamy on my lips. I have also found that it barely transfers.

Addressing the claim that it can last up to 13 hours, I applied this lipstick just after 8am and by 10am (after eating) it had started to wear off slightly where my lips were touching. By 3pm (after lunch, a few cups of tea and a good old sing song) it looked more like a thick lip liner than lipstick and come 6pm, it had completely worn off. So on me it lasted a total of 10 hours before completely wearing off – which is pretty impressive!

Overall, I’m very impressed with this as my first matte lipstick experience and I will definitely be purchasing some of the more colourful shades!

    The color suits you. ☺️

I’m using a local brand in my country. It’s a vegan lipstick but it has a good quality too! ❤️

    1. Thank you! 🙂 I’m not so sure yet, maybe after a few more times wearing it.

Where are you from? I’d love to try some vegan products, I’m not sure where to start though!
